Irelands champions for the year 2004 are shelbourne fc

..Tolka men have been the best irish side both

domestically and in europe, though cork city had a

brilliant winning streak at the end of the

season....Shels have enjoyed a good run in europe

starting rather shy against the icelandic side with

the two draws (2~2 away and 0~0 at Tolka park), but

the best moments were to come very soon!!!!....The

team played Hajduk Split and Dublin lads have been

very good in Croatia losing only 3~2 at Poljud and

everybody knew Briogaid Dearg would make tremendeous

atmosphere in Dublin....So as far as we could see

Tolka Park was all in red and the shels faithful

supporters could be heard at the beginning of the 80th

minute when Liverpool man hit the ball and two seconds

after that the crowd was ecstatic~ it is in the back

of the net~ and the commentator could only shout for

another two minutes~ Davy

Rogerrrrrrrrrrs!!!!!!....Shels did not succumb after

that but former St Pats man Joseph Ndo made a good run

and passed the ball to Alan Moore who scored his third

european goal in La Bamba style!!!....Deportivo proved

to strong though Shelbourne held them to a 0~0 draw at

home.....The next team to come to Ireland was Lille

and the game started bad with the french having a two

nil lead at half time.....Pat Fenlon organised the

lads a bit , and the last ten minutes saw a Glen

Fitzpatrick show (favourite player of belgrade

supporters) and the game ended in a draw....The french

were better at home....Domestically the team were at

their very best ten rounds before the end, Bohemians

did manage to win at Dalymount with Glen Crowe scoring

in both games and Cork City finding their perfect form

too late....The best player, well it is hard to

say....Jason Byrne was brilliant

domestically,Fitzpatrick scored in Europe, Alan Moore

was always good but credit must be given to goalkeeper

Steve Williams, Owen Heary,Weso,Ndo  Ger Mc Carthy and

Stuey Byrne.....And the best part of the club~ the

faithful supporters ~ Briogaid Dearg~....We could see

the pictures from the european matches~ red scarfs

,flags ,and banners made a brilliant backup for the

team and hopefully the next season will be even

better(playing champions league football).....We hope

to visit the home of Shels fc in dublin....At the end

we would like to pass our greetings to the best and

most faithful shels fan who is , by the way, a member

of our CSC~ Ken Buckmaster.....Hope to watch Shels

matches together in Dublin and Belgrade possibly next

year....Many thanks also to our brothers Croats who

allowed us to see Alan Moore and Davy Rogers score on

their National Television.....
